Chiesa Santissima Addolorata Aspra. La Chiesa della Santissima Addolorata nasce nel borgo marinaro di Aspra presumibilmente nel ‘700, come piccola cappella, quando il Marchese di Sant’Isidoro la fece costruire. Il 23 gennaio 1930 venne dedicata alla Beata Vergine Maria Addolorata. Per abbellire la struttura Don Cipolla pensò subito di sfruttare le qualità artistiche, di cui si cominciava a parlare, di un giovane pittore di Bagheria di nome: Renato Guttuso.
The Church of SS. Addolorata was built in the seaside village of Aspra, presumably in the 18th century, as a small chapel, when the Marquis of Sant’Isidoro had it built. On 23 January 1930 it was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Sorrows. To embellish the structure Don Cipolla immediately thought of exploiting the artistic qualities, which were beginning to speak, of a young painter of Bagheria named: Renato Guttuso.
